Spaceship Shooter, Stars of Icarus, Confirms Next Playtest Running May 29-June 8

The upcoming playtest for Stars of Icarus, a tactical PvP space shooter that pits starship crews against each other in tense 5v5 dogfights, King of the Hill and Bounty game modes, will run from May 29 – June 8.

In this latest playtest, explore the new Omicron map, enjoy newly polished ship exteriors (before blasting them to pieces, naturally), as well as UI updates and gameplay balancing (including to health, ammo, and damages). This is in addition to the competitive mode, player-owned lobbies, and ship types introduced in previous playtests.

Developer Muse Games has also shared a new gameplay trailer including footage from the community of active fans and existing playtesters.

Fly solo or hop into a ship with friends and assign roles. Not so good at piloting? It’s time to whack some engines and shoot enemies down! Players will have to strategize as a team to outmaneuver the competition with thought-out, tactical movements and navigate a treacherous cel-shaded theater of war amongst the stars.

Communication and trust will make the difference between glorious victory and ending up as space debris, so choose your teammates wisely.

  • The Frontier’s most lethal crew: Your chances of success are only as strong as the bond your team shares. From nimble solo fighters to three-man frigates, every role needs to pull their weight if you’re going to fly rings round your opponents.
  • Style on the competition: Customize your character and ship with cosmetics and loadouts so that your enemies remember who blasted them to smithereens.
  • Keep things chilled… or not: Jump into ranked modes and lock in to ascend to legendary status, or kick back in casual servers and reminisce about your victories between matches. Matches are designed to be pick-up and play, lasting around 20 minutes, meaning you’ll never need long to regroup and go again.

Stars of Icarus is coming to PC via Steam. Sign up to the playtest now via the Steam page!
