Ex-Skylanders developers showcase two new trailers and open a limited-time playtest as launch approaches
Canadian indie studio Hatchery Games, founded by former Skylanders developers, is entering the final stretch toward the June 9 PC release of Voidling Bound with the debut of two new trailers and a limited-time Steam playtest.
Launching on Steam and Epic Games Store on June 9, 2026, with console versions planned for a later date, Voidling Bound blends monster taming with third-person shooter action, allowing players to evolve creatures through branching paths and DNA splicing systems.

And just as it becomes available in the current playtest, we’re excited to share a first look at The Abyss, the “Endgame” mode in Voidling Bound, where you dive deeper into increasingly challenging and rewarding runs. Have a look.
A limited-time Steam Playtest, running until April 27, gives players access to nearly the full game, including the newly introduced endgame mode, The Abyss.

- Full story and locations for planets Vireo, Solum, and Aulis.
- 8 playable species and up to 248 evolutions.
- Access to breeding, training, and splicing (creature crafting)
- Endless game mode (capped at Abyss Level 30)
Didn’t get into the playtest? The Steam demo will remain available for the foreseeable future, and unlike the former, any progress made in the demo will carry over into the full game!
