Kaua’i-based husband-and-wife studio unveils a new trailer and details the Sunyata CCG demo, featuring four constructed decks, Draft Mode, and both PvE and PvP play.
Independent studio Nagarjuna Games today announced that the first public demo of its upcoming fantasy card game Sunyata CCG will launch on May 4, aligning with the opening day of Steam’s Deckbuilders Fest. The demo showcases the game’s fast‑paced tactical combat, unique mana system, and hand‑drawn art, offering players their first hands‑on experience with both PvE encounters and PvP “Challenge a Friend” duels.
The studio also released a new demo trailer, highlighting Sunyata’s action‑packed turns, evolving creatures, and thematic gameplay.
A Demo Packed with Options
Players can jump in using one of four constructed decks, each with a distinct identity:
• Ice Mage — Convert ice mana into Ice Spirit tokens
• Dragon Riders — Combine riders and dragons into explosive burn damage finishers
• Trees — Grow and transform creatures using the new Evolution mechanic
• Zombies — Sacrifice bodies from your graveyard to summon aggressive undead.

For players who prefer improvisation, the demo includes Draft Mode, allowing players to build a deck using 1–2 mana types from the demo’s four disciplines: Ice, Fire, Nature, and Food.
The full game will expand the system with Water, Electricity, Steel, and Gold.
A New Kind of Fantasy Card Game

Sunyata blends the familiar mana curve of Hearthstone with the deckbuilding freedom of Magic: The Gathering while introducing mechanics that push the genre forward.
What Sets Sunyata Apart
• Repeatable creature and castle abilities that trigger every turn
• A unique mana system where players choose two of four generated support cards each turn
• Action‑packed turns with multiple decision points
• A flexible Evolution mechanic for transforming or upgrading creatures

“Each card in Sunyata is a puzzle piece,” said the development team. “We want players to feel the thrill of assembling a strategy that’s uniquely theirs—something they can invest years into mastering.”
