Baiacool – Tides of Olympus, Funny Underwater Greek Mythology Adventure Announced

From Brazilian solo developer João Sass, under the studio name Sasquatch with Socks, comes a funny top-down adventure that asks:

What if Greek mythology happened at the bottom of the sea, Poseidon disappeared, and the only hero available was a pufferfish who can only say “Cool”? Well, you’d have Baiacool – Tides of Olympus, that’s what.

A Mythological Mess Under the Sea:

Welcome to an underwater version of Olympus, where gods and mythical beings have been reimagined as sea creatures, divine drama is still very much alive, and Poseidon has mysteriously vanished after sending a cryptic warning about an incoming war.

Now, the ocean is unstable, the gods are suspicious, and somehow the fate of everything falls to Baiacool, a round, stubborn pufferfish with a confident attitude, questionable survival instincts, and a vocabulary made of exactly one word:

Cool.

Luckily, Baiacool is not alone. He is joined by the Mystic Stick, a talking weapon with much more to say than its owner. Together, they set out to investigate Poseidon’s disappearance, explore strange underwater domains, and face marine versions of Greek gods who are just as dramatic, dangerous, and unreasonable as you would expect.

Explore, Fight, Puzzle, Cool:

Baiacool – Tides of Olympus blends top-down exploration, action combat, environmental puzzles, boss fights, and absurd character-driven humor into a compact indie adventure.

Players will explore themed mythological areas, battle enemies, solve puzzles, unlock new powers, meet bizarre NPCs, and uncover what really happened to Poseidon. Each region brings its own divine personality, from warlike chaos to strategic elegance, mixing classical mythology with underwater absurdity.

And through it all, Baiacool remains emotionally consistent.

He says “Cool.”

Gods, But Make Them Fish:

In this version of Greek mythology, the gods are not human.

They are sea creatures.

Ares becomes a violent swordfish. Athena becomes a wise dolphin. Zeus becomes an electric catfish charged with authority and thunder. Poseidon, fittingly, is a giant squid. Each god brings a distinct visual identity, personality, domain, and boss-like presence to the underwater world.

The result is a playful reinterpretation of mythology where legendary figures feel familiar, but strange enough to surprise players.

Comedy First, Prophecy Later:

The story of Baiacool – Tides of Olympus is built around a serious mythological problem handled by deeply unserious people.

Poseidon is missing. A war may be coming. The gods may be hiding something. The end of the sea might be near.

But there is also a talking stick, dramatic sea-creature gods, suspicious NPCs, strange prophecies, and a protagonist who responds to nearly every situation with the same word.

The game’s humor comes from that contrast: an epic divine mystery filtered through absurd characters, deadpan reactions, and a world that treats underwater Greek mythology as completely normal.

Compact Adventure, Big Personality:

Baiacool – Tides of Olympus is designed as a focused indie adventure: colorful, fast-paced, and full of memorable moments without overstaying its welcome.

Expect exploration, combat, puzzles, boss encounters, unlockable powers, secrets, skins, and plenty of strange characters along the way.

The goal is not to make the biggest mythology game.

It is to make one of the weirdest, funniest, and most charming ones.
