Enjoy revolutionary combat physics in debut game from former Mount & Blade modders!
Hooded Horse is excited to reveal that Medieval strategy RPG Kinstrife, from German-based Finitude, is joining its portfolio of world-class strategic and tactical games. Become a wandering knight and journey the land, building wealth, securing followers, and carving out a noble destiny in a time of strife!
Made by former modders from the Mount & Blade scene, Kinstrife sees players enter a non-linear medieval sandbox set in a tumultuous 13th-century Germany, a region grappling with the chaotic power vacuum left by the Great Interregnum as noble houses viciously compete for the imperial throne.
Become a Knight Errant and journey through an immersive landscape set on the banks of the Rhine, filled with castles, monasteries, villages, and forests. Travel with sword and servants in tow, building up skills, renown, and wealth to grow a loyal retinue. Fight in realistic medieval battles using the simulated physics engine, engage in duels, and even take part in tournaments to win fame and riches.

“Kinstrife is exactly the kind of game we want in the portfolio,” says Hooded Horse CEO Tim Bender. “A sandbox open world with this level of attention to detail, where you can truly lose yourself in the fantasy — we’re thrilled for the chance to serve as publisher.”
“Kinstrife has been our passion project for a long time,” says Finitude co-founder Christoph Rüger. “Finding the right partner for the years ahead was hugely important to us.”

“We’ve wanted to work with Hooded Horse from the moment we set out to find a publisher,” adds co-founder Khaya Ludidi. “Their passion shows in how they curate games and give unique projects a chance to shine, which makes this partnership feel completely natural, and we’re incredibly excited to take the project to the next level together.”
Kinstrife is coming to PC via Steam.
The game will be localized from English into German, French, Italian, Spanish (Spain and Latin American), Portuguese, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Ukrainian, Russian, Turkish, Brazilian Portuguese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.
