Heavy Metal Death Can Brings Death, Decay, and Distortion to Steam today!

Krufs Productions celebrates the launch of Heavy Metal Death Can, now available on Steam. The unforgiving survival horror experience is steeped in deep-sea terror and crushing claustrophobia. Plunge into old-school survival horror aboard an alt-history 1970s Cold War submarine in the depths of the Norwegian Sea. Fight to stay alive against your fallen crew, their corpses controlled by the insidious Sludge, as you uncover the mysteries lurking below.

“We can’t wait to see what players will think about the game! We hope it will be something that will challenge them, occasionally scare them, but most importantly bring them nostalgic joy for a genre that we feel still has a lot to offer. Says Tobias Karlsson, Founder and Creative at Krufs Productions, and continues, Heavy Metal Death Can is an honest expression of two 30-something misfits following their creative impulses for better or worse because nobody is there to tell them otherwise.”

Heavy Metal Death Can draws from ’90s classics to deliver an unforgiving, foreboding survival horror experience. This isn’t a threat you can simply shoot your way through. Every bullet, every decision, and every risk must be carefully considered.

Heavy Metal Death Can features a distorted soundtrack that heightens the tension at every turn. Unnerving audio design and ambient noise ensure you’re never truly safe, even in silence. The game takes place aboard the fictional vessel Domherren, inspired by real-life submarines of the era. Blending historical authenticity with alt-history design, its uniforms, control panels, and interiors are rooted in Cold War reality.

  • Old-school survival horror inspired by the style of early console classics
  • Fixed camera angles and tank controls, with optional modernized controls
  • Resource management and high-stakes decision-making, every bullet counts
  • A distorted, tension-driven soundtrack and unsettling ambient audio
  • Retro-inspired visuals enhanced with modern rendering techniques
  • A late-1970s Swedish Cold War setting with an alt-history twist
  • Non-linear level design filled with puzzles and deadly encounters
