You are the Tlatoani, tasked with building the city of Tenochtitlan. Defy the Moon Goddess and her relentless nightly attacks and construct one of history’s marvels. But where there is hardship, there needs to be sacrifice. Are you willing to shed the blood of your own people for the greater good and survival for all?
Polish development studio Play2Chill and German publisher Toplitz Productions proudly announce that Version 1.0 of their survival infused city-builder Aztecs: The Last Sun is available for PC today on Steam, Gog.com and Epic Games Store. This marks the biggest step in the game’s development journey since its Early Access launch in Fall 2025.
Meaningful enhancements to existing gameplay systems, new content and a plethora of balance improvements as well as quality-of-life updates based on the invaluable community feedback make version 1.0 of Aztecs: The Last Sun a city-builder you don’t want to miss.
A new chapter is available in the Story Mode alongside a full new region, pitting you finally against the Moon Goddess herself to finish her dark nightly reign once and for all. More game modes have been added to cater to your city-building needs. Sandbox mode retains the tense shifts between daytime building and nighttime survival, while removing all the story elements. In Creative mode you can build to your heart’s content, using all the buildings unlocked across all other modes and showing off your creations with the help of the fresh photo tools.
Prefer to focus on the story and the exploration or simply want a more relaxed gameplay experience? Either way, we got you covered with the difficulty level of the same name. On the other hand, If you are looking for a more survival-focused playthrough, then choose „Doom“ and prove that the Gods cannot touch you.

About Aztecs: The Last Sun
Take on the role of the Tlatoani, the divine ruler of Tenochtitlán. Build your city upon the waters of Lake Texcoco, lead your people to glory, and bring the long war against the Moon Goddess to its final reckoning.
Build the Heart of an Empire
Construct over 25 unique building types, each upgradeable across four levels except the Story-Exclusive ones. Terraform Lake Texcoco, dig canals, and reclaim precious land from the marsh. Raise divine monuments, academies, and gardens.
Honor the Gods, or Pay the Price
Perform rituals and human sacrifices to earn divine protection. Answer the gods’ offerings when they come for tribute. Fail them and risk losing godly Grace! Balance the favor of the gods, your economy, and survival itself.

End the Long Night
Face the Moon Goddess and her generals in a story-driven campaign. Discover the ancient Sun Pillar and raise its modules to push back her power, and see the sun again. Confront her at last in a showdown for the fate of Tenochtitlán.
Reach Beyond the Valley
Send expeditions across the strategic map, secure resources, and establish trade routes. Recruit new citizens from distant settlements and the port city. Expand your power beyond the borders of Tenochtitlán.
Play Your Way
Campaign: the full story across four difficulties: Relaxed, Story, Adventure, and the punishing Doom. Sandbox: keep the survival challenge, drop the story. Build, defend, and outlast the night with limitless resources. Creative: pure city-building. No economy, no threats. Unlock the full roster of buildings by surviving nights in the other modes, and use the Photo Mode to capture your built city in all its splendor.
