This March, ShantyTown participates and exhibits its relaxing diorama-building in several key events
Publisher Kinephantom and solo developer Erik Rempen of Silk Softworks have announced that ShantyTown will take part in two upcoming showcases this March: Steam’s Relaxing Event and Brazil’s Mundo Gamer Showcase 2026.
The showcases arrive as the development for ShantyTown enters its final checks ahead of launch. Players exploring the current demo on Steam will find recent updates and refinements, continuing the steady improvements shaped by feedback from the game’s growing community.

From March 12 to 20, Steam’s Relaxing Event offers players a chance to spend time with ShantyTown’s calm building flow whereby you stack neighbourhoods into dense little dioramas while the game’s lighting slowly shifts from day to night alongside Macroblank’s adaptive soundtrack.
Additionally, ShantyTown will also appear in Brazil’s Mundo Gamer Showcase, bringing the game’s quiet creative sandbox to a wider international audience and highlighting it among a curated lineup of upcoming indie titles.

Meanwhile, the community has been actively building through an ongoing ShantyTown build competition on Discord, running since February. Players have been sharing imaginative neighbourhood designs and experimenting with new ways to fill every rooftop, alley, and corner with life.
ShantyTown launches April 16, 2026 on Steam, where players can wishlist the game now and explore the updated demo during both March events.
