Viral Rhythm Brawler, Dead as Disco, Tops The Charts – Climbs to 96% Overwhelmingly Positive, Sells Over 200k Copies in Less Than a Week

Following a breakout Early Access launch fueled by viral momentum and glowing player reception, Dead As Disco has now sold more than 200,000 copies in less than a week, developer Brain Jar Games announced today.

The neon-drenched rhythm beat ’em up quickly found an audience after launch, climbing into Steam’s Top 10 Best-Selling Games while earning a 96% “Overwhelmingly Positive” user rating across more than 4,700 Steam reviews.

To celebrate the launch momentum, Brain Jar Games has released a new Accolades Trailer highlighting some of the standout reactions from critics.

Dead As Disco has quickly earned praise from critics & creators alike for its stylish fusion of rhythm gameplay, music-driven combat, and infectious soundtrack. TechRadar called it “one of the best indie games I’ve ever played,” while The Gamer said it’s “a stylish contender for Game of the Year” and IGN praised the game as “all killer no filler.”

The studio also confirmed that Dead As Disco is targeting its full 1.0 launch in 2027, with multiple major updates planned between now and release.

Dead As Disco launched at $24.99 (regional pricing may vary) and will still be 20% off for another week at $19.99. The Dead as Disco official soundtrack is also available on major music platforms and can be bought in a bundle with the game.
