Italic Pig and Maximum Entertainment are pleased to announce the first major content release resulting from the successful Paleo Pines Players’ Choice Kickstarter campaign.
A Community Driven Future
The “Players’ Choice” campaign was born from a direct collaboration between the developers and the Paleo Pines community. After pursuing traditional funding avenues, the studio turned to its players to prioritize the features they wanted most. The campaign, which reached its primary goal within 48 hours, was designed to bypass industry hurdles and allow fans to vote on and fund the game’s evolution. This first update delivers on the most highly requested additions, ensuring that the future of Paleo Pines remains shaped by the people who play it.
The Arrival of the Spinosaurus
The highlight of this release is the official arrival of the Spinosaurus. This highly anticipated dinosaur can now be discovered and befriended. The first selection of Spino colors and patterns—as chosen by our players—is available immediately in this update.
New Environmental Features and Resources
The update introduces Rare Meteor Showers, a new atmospheric event. During these events, players can locate fallen stars—a new resource that can be crafted into Dreamstones to expand ranching capabilities and provide more homes for dinosaur friends.
Excitingly, several existing dinosaur species now feature new color variations, implemented through the contributions of our “Dino Color Transfer” backers. In addition to having dozens of new dinos to befriend, players will find Apium growing as a wild plant for the first time.
Expanded Customization and Decor
The ranch and character customization systems have received a substantial influx of new content. This release includes several themed sets and exclusive items accessible via code activation:
- The Spino Clothing and Decor Set
- VIP Ranch Decor Terrarium
- Pride and Swamp Clothing and Decor Sets
- Spooky Ranch Decor
There are also multiple new decor items designed by our Decor Designers.
Updated Dialogue and Hidden Content
Continuing with the priority of player-led content, the residents of Paleo Pines have received updated player-created Villager Quotes and our resident Mysterious Cactus is offering new nuggets of guidance.
This is the first Players’ Choice update to Paleo Pines with work on the second currently underway.
