Technological Innovation Meets Timeless Class in New Formula Legends Update, Out Now

3DClouds has today launched a massive new update for their celebrated console and PC racer, Formula Legends

This indie racer which straddles the line between arcade and sim has attracted a cult following across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo platforms since launch in September, including regular additions of new cars, fan-requested features like steering wheel support, physics improvements and more.

Today’s update features both free and premium DLC components and is out now for PC, PlayStation and Xbox platforms with Nintendo set to get the content later this month.

NEW FREE CONTENT – Late 2020s Car, Late 50s Championship, Temple of Speed Track

3DClouds has introduced lots of new content to Formula Legends since launch, and this update is no different. Introducing the new Late 2020s racing car based on the cutting edge of current open-wheel technology. This new car introduces new moment-to-moment racing challenges associated with battery charge management, boost deployment and switching between low downforce (A Mode) and high downforce modes (B Mode). You can use this Late 2020s racing car in time trial mode and custom mode.

Flanking this modern new creation is the introduction of a classic Late 1950s vehicle, so players can compare motorsport’s earliest technology with its latest. Accompanying the Late 1950s vehicle is a brand new late 50s championship, new teams , drivers and a new flavour of ‘The Temple of Speed’ circuit. This new Vintage configuration is terrifyingly fast and features gargantuan banked curving as well as more era-specific challenges.

This free new content expands the core Formula Legends experience to playfully capture over 70 years of open-wheel motorsport – spanning 19 different eras of rules and regulations and 14 locations featuring 33 different track configurations. Formula Legends is not an experience that is light on content.

NEW PAID DLC – Late 2020s Season Pack

In addition to the free content detailed above, players who want to be fully immersed in the new season can purchase the new Late 2020s Season Pack. This premium expansion (priced at £4.99 GBP / €4,99 Euros / $5.99 USD) adds new teams, drivers & liveries all wrapped up in a new championship mode dedicated to the modern era and a brand new track! Azerbaijan will be a challenge to the most experienced racer; providing fast, technical, free-flowing sections and lengthy straights that require expert energy management lap-to-lap.

This DLC includes:

  • 7 new teams
  • 14 new drivers with unique helmets
  • 16 new liveries (2 per team)
  • 1 new Story Mode championship
  • Updated next-generation season rules
  • 1 new track: Azerbaijan
