STUDIO.D0DO, an independent solo development studio led by Rexo, has announced that its 2D omnidirectional shooter AREA WARS™ will launch on Steam on March 6, 2026.
Priced at $2.99 USD, AREA WARS™ delivers a fast-paced score attack experience built around explosive chain reactions and constantly shifting battlefields.
AREA WARS™ is a 2D shooter where players fight off enemies closing in from every direction within a rapidly changing, enclosed area. The game features a wave-based structure: as time progresses, the shape of the area and enemy spawn patterns dynamically evolve. Players cannot escape beyond the area’s boundaries and must continuously adapt to shifting combat conditions.
Defeated enemies trigger explosions that chain together, engulfing nearby foes. The longer the chain reaction continues, the higher the score multiplier rises. Designed for short, repeatable runs focused on skill improvement and high scores, the game also features massive bosses composed of countless parts, delivering intense and memorable encounters.
