Turn beans into profit, set your own prices, and build a cozy coffee shop from the ground up, now brewing in Early Access on Steam.
Leartes Games, a subsidiary of Leartes Studios, announced the release of its debut title, The Roast: Coffee Shop Simulator, in Early Access, now available on Steam. Set in a warm, cozy café atmosphere, the game blends hands on coffee making with practical shop management, letting players stock ingredients, set up their workspace, build a menu, and serve a steady flow of customers. From the first morning rush to a busy day on the floor, The Roast focuses on the satisfying rhythm of running a small business, balancing speed and quality as your café grows over time.

First introduced with its debut demo during Steam Next Fest, and warmly received by players, The Roast: Coffee Shop Simulator brings players into the satisfying day to day rhythm of running a café, stocking ingredients, organizing the workspace, building a menu, setting prices, taking orders, and crafting drinks to keep customers caffeinated and the business growing. Along the way, players can customize and decorate their shop to reflect their own style, turning a small counter into a cozy coffee spot that feels personal. The game aims to deliver a grounded, hands on barista experience, focusing on the practical flow of service and the small details that make each shift feel real. The Roast can be played solo or in co-op, letting friends split tasks, handle the rush together, and build their café as a team.
As an Early Access release, The Roast: Coffee Shop Simulator will keep taking shape over the next year with community feedback directly influencing what gets refined and expanded. The roadmap focuses on making the café feel more alive and responsive, with richer customer and NPC behavior, everyday dialogue, and distinct customer types that change the pace of a shift, supported by clearer reactions and feedback. On the business side, deeper management systems like operating expenses, banking and loans, and shipping and logistics are planned to add more meaningful decisions beyond the counter. Personalization is also set to grow significantly, with expanded spaces such as a restroom and second floor, larger playable areas, more decoration options, and atmosphere upgrades like day and weather variation, all aimed at letting players build a café that feels uniquely theirs, while new recipe systems, including syrups and cold coffee mechanics, broaden the menu and the moment to moment barista experience.

“I drew inspiration for The Roast from the cafés I have visited over the years, sometimes to get work done, sometimes to unwind after a long day, and I kept finding myself fascinated by the system and order behind the counter. The way a team manages the rush, the workflow, and the small details felt like it could become a great game that captures both the comfort of a café and the energy of running one,” said Oguzhan Kar, CEO of Leartes Studios. “The Roast is designed to deliver a grounded barista experience, and there is a real sense of satisfaction in keeping customers caffeinated, staying in control of a fast paced environment, and finding that rewarding rhythm where speed, focus, and craft come together. By combining the barista experience with the mindset of an owner, we believe we have captured something genuinely unique, and we have been thrilled by the positive response from players so far.”
The Roast: Coffee Shop Simulator is available now in Early Access on Steam for $3.99, offering a cozy café atmosphere paired with the satisfying pace of real barista work and day to day management. Players can purchase the game now to experience its unique blend of comfort and rush, and follow the title on Steam to stay informed about upcoming updates and new content planned throughout Early Access.
