The Occultist Opens Its Haunting Case During Steam Detective Fest

Daedalic Entertainment and developer DALOAR announce that The Occultist is now playable with a new demo as part of Steam Detective Fest. Players take on the role of Alan Rebel, a paranormal investigator whose search for truth drags him into a nightmare of hidden symbols, violent echoes, and entities that do not want to be found.

The demo presents the game’s opening chapter, unfolding across an isolated haunting landscape where every location feels watched and every discovery carries weight. Using Alan’s pendulum, players expose clues, blood-stained traces, and occult objects while navigating a sinister wilderness. What begins as careful investigation escalates into psychological terror, ending in a relentless pursuit by a supernatural presence and a desperate escape.

Blending first-person exploration with slow-burning psycho-horror, The Occultist focuses on atmosphere, vulnerability, and the fear of uncovering truths better left buried.

The demo for The Occultist is now available on Steam as part of Steam Detective Fest. The full game is set to launch in Q2 2026.

The demo is currently available in English, Spanish (Spain), French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Italian, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish (Latin America), Traditional Chinese and Turkish.
