New mode lets players challenge each other one-on-one in real time
Hooded Horse and Chronocle are pleased to reveal an exciting new update for Fantasy RPG auto-battler He is Coming – realtime PvP battles! Before now, players could only face ghosts of each other via the Kingmaker mode, where top builds are uploaded to the cloud. Now, friends can be challenged directly in high-stakes 1v1 combat.
Players will try to outsmart their opponent over the course of three to five stages. Each participant plays in the same map seed, but their choices will be entirely their own: where they wander, which mobs they fight, what loot they find, and ultimately, what builds they craft. At the end of each stage, the two combatants will clash to see who had the better run (replacing the usual boss fights from the PvE mode.) The first person to win three out of five battles will walk away the victor.
He is Coming has sold over 170,000 copies since launching into Early Access in July.
He is Coming is available on PC via Steam Early Access for $19.99 / £17.99 / €19.99 / ¥1,980.00. A 50% launch discount is running from now until December 8, 2025. It’s also available via PC Game Pass.
