The first pixel art management game retracing over 100 years of cinema history launches its demo on Steam.
Cinema Theater Tycoon is a top-down management game entirely created in pixel art, inviting players to become cinema owners from 1906 to 2023. The demo is available now on Steam and will remain accessible until the full release planned for 2026.
Build, Program, and Evolve with the 7th Art
The adventure begins in 1906, at the dawn of modern cinema. Reel projectors, pianists accompanying silent films, fragile film prints, and emerging technologies: players discover a young art form… and learn how to turn it into a thriving business.
In this demo (1906–1914), players can:
- Build and customize their cinema
- Schedule their first screenings
- Manage staff and services
- Optimize revenue
- Or design the most beautiful cinema possible

With over two hours of content, players are free to experiment: maximize profits, create a cozy and aesthetic venue… or find the perfect balance between both.
A Strategy Game with a Cozy Soul
Beneath its in-depth management systems lies a warm and lively universe. Small, slightly clumsy yet charming pixel art characters wander through the halls, grow impatient at ticket counters, applaud during screenings, or ask for popcorn. Their visible emotions and needs directly influence the player’s management decisions.
Cinema Theater Tycoon is designed for:
- Fans of deep strategy and management games
- As well as players seeking a cozy, creative, and contemplative experience

Every wall placed, every poster hung, and every room named contributes to creating a truly unique venue.
Growing with History
Across more than a century of gameplay, players will witness the evolution of:
- Technologies (silent film, sound, color, Scope, IMAX, Dolby…)
- Films
- Audience expectations
- Major cinematic movements
Eventually, players will be able to manage multiple cinemas across Paris and build a true cultural empire, growing alongside the evolution of the 7th Art.
Developed by two passionate creators working part-time for over two years, Cinema Theater Tycoon was born from a shared love of cinema and management games. The ambition: to deliver the ultimate cinema ownership experience, where players manage not only a business, but a living cultural space.
