Toukana Interactive and Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell are excited to unveil the first major content update for their Early Access title Star Birds. The “Flora & Fauna” Update expands the game world with new environments, alien life forms, new buildings, and a free playing mode. Many new features are now available for hands-on coverage via the newly launched Beta Test on Steam.

The “Flora & Fauna” Update includes the following features:
• Farewell, Ravsicle! | Away with the wool socks — move on to Star System 3! From cold and frosty to lush and green.
• Advanced Star Travel | New starship construction quests! Each star system has unique conditions and requires its own solutions to travel onwards.
• Alien Plants | Explore the home of the Volt Shrooms. You might even grow a plant of your own!
• New Buildings | Bird Diner, Bakery, Bio Lab, and many more!
• Unexpected Inhabitants | Tentacles are emerging from the craters scattered across the asteroids. What they want is unclear – but as always, when in doubt, there is only one reliable solution: good food!
• Basic Level Generator | Generate levels of your own in free playing mode! Enter the Wormhole in each star system and create your own levels using a range of adjustable parameters. This mode will be expanded in future updates, so your feedback will be crucial.

Players can use the Beta Test to dive into the new content early and provide feedback before the update is officially released in early 2026. Their input helps us fix bugs and further refine the game in preparation for the update launch.
