Knitewings Opens Sign-ups for its Closed Playtest

Independent solo-developer Profenix Studio SRLS has officially opened sign-ups for the closed playtest of Knitewings, the anime-inspired rail shooter powered by a fully proprietary engine. A limited number of players will be selected to participate in the first gameplay test, focused on collecting feedback and gameplay data to refine the core systems before the public demo.

The playtest will feature the “Earth” stage (level 4), the first complete mission of the game, along with a short tutorial stage introducing the controls and flight mechanics.

Participants will be invited to share their impressions through a very short survey after playing.

Additionally, the game will collect certain in-run data (such as kills, deaths, and stage progress) to help balance difficulty and pacing.

Players will have the option to submit this data together with the survey to actively contribute to the development process.

“This closed playtest is a key milestone,” says Fabio, the game’s developer. It’s not just about testing the game, it’s about collaborating with players to perfect the feel of flight, combat, and progression.”

  • Tutorial stage introducing controls and core mechanics.
  • Earth Level (Level 4), the full playable mission with combat and mid-boss.
  • XP, coins, and power-up systems.
  • Adjustable camera modes (cinematic/balanced/arcade)
  • Optional survey and gameplay data submission after the test.

Interested players can now request access directly through the Steam page.
