Silent Sun Games has announced that Shifting Sands, a science fiction roguelite set on a constantly resetting desert world, will be featured in Steam Next Fest.
Shifting Sands is an isometric pixel art roguelite built around a daily world reset cycle. Each in game day, massive sandstorms reshape the desert, uncovering new wreckage, routes, and dangers. Players venture out from a central hub known as the Nexus to scavenge what they can before the storm returns and erases the world once again.

Progress is shaped by risk and choice rather than isolated runs. Inventory space is limited, and death means losing everything except what is secured in protected storage. Long term upgrades, gear modifications, and player knowledge persist between resets, allowing each expedition to influence the next.
Combat exists within the desert, but it is not the primary objective. Preparation, positioning, stealth, and knowing when to retreat often matter more than direct confrontation. Survivors, factions, and roaming threats populate the wastes, sometimes offering aid and sometimes becoming obstacles.
