Announced on Steam today
Contrary Games has announced Zeroth, a physics-driven roguelike platformer where players zap, quaff, eat, dig, cast, bash, read, throw and more as they try to escape the 0th circle of Haell.
Zeroth is Contrary Games’ second title after Pathos: Nethack Codex, an extensive traditional roguelike with over one million lifetime players and translated into 17 languages.
Building on this proven formula, real-time platforming brings to life the single player role playing experience, without losing any depth of content with hundreds of distinct items, enemies, spells and traps. And there’s no meta-progression because why make the game easier as you get better at it?

Further inspired by the systemic depth of Noita, the sandbox world of Terraria, and the tight platforming of Spelunky, Zeroth allows for multiple play styles to overcome its challenges. It also features a clean 2D comic book art style, keeping the gameplay readable despite the escalating chaos.
Zeroth is available to wishlist now on Steam, with a demo planned for late 2026 and release slated for early 2027.
