FROSTHAVEN’s Second Early Access Update, “Legacy of the Algox”, Adds Three Character Classes, The Algox Storyline, One Pet, and Much More
Arc Games and Snapshot Games today released FROSTHAVEN’s second Early Access content update: Legacy of the Algox. This free substantial update is available now for PC players who own the digital adaptation of the critically-acclaimed tactical RPG board game by Isaac Childres and Cephalofair Games. Legacy of the Algox introduces a brand-new storyline featuring the local Algox tribes, one new pet, three highly-anticipated playable heroes, five bosses, two unique biomes, and additional quests and upgrades.
From Snapshot Games, led by CEO Julian Gollop – the creator of X-COM, in collaboration with board game creator Isaac Childres and Cephalofair Games, FROSTHAVEN introduces the Legacy of the Algox content update, free for Early Access players. With the Unfettered threat finally dealt with, the heroes of Frosthaven turn their attention to the escalating Algox conflict. An Algox messenger arrives, bringing information about a possible resolution. Now the heroes of Frosthaven must decide the fate of the Algox and shape the legacy that will define their future. Something ancient and malevolent stirs beneath the ice.
Adding to a storyline filled with political intrigue and cooperation, three new character classes – “Astral,” “Drill,” and “Shackles” – introduce playstyles and abilities that will dynamically shape party builds and strategies:
- “Shackles” developed the ability to control pain itself, redirecting damage and harmful effects from his allies and aiming it towards the enemy.
- “Drill,” an ancient machine made from various Unfettered parts, is a heavy-lifting tank class and offers melee combat and impressive defensive capabilities.
- “Astral” is attuned to the elements, utilizing them to empower attacks, heal, and if needed, even manifest crystalline weapons to their aid.
Also joining these heroes is an additional pet, totaling 11 pets so far for players to discover and capture! Summon your pets from the Stables, bring them into battle, and activate unique and powerful abilities, adding strategic depth beyond standard item cards.
FROSTHAVEN: Legacy of the Algox, the second major content update since its Early Access launch in summer 2025, includes the following features:
- The Algox Storyline: Help your allied Algox tribe as they negotiate peace talks with their rivals and hopefully gain full cooperation.
