A unique opportunity to join the playtests and earn a special reward
Developer PRdroid Games, together with publisher Valkyrie Initiative, is pleased to announce that playtest registration is now open for the upcoming narrative RPG Decadent Heir on Steam.
Players can now request access on the game’s store page to take part in the early test phase, scheduled to begin in Q1 2026 – or sooner, depending on player demand.
About Decadent Heir
Decadent Heir is a story-driven RPG set in the decadent twilight of the Russian Empire – a world where politics, betrayal, and luxury intertwine in a deadly dance of ambition.
Players begin their journey from the protagonist’s very birth, shaping their character’s personality and destiny through countless meaningful choices. Every decision, even the smallest one — from reading a book to playing with a dog – can ripple through the world and alter the fate of a nation.
The game embraces the spirit of “What if?” – encouraging multiple playthroughs through its roguelike structure. If the protagonist dies, each new run expands their abilities and opens new paths to reshape history.
A Handcrafted Narrative with AI-Assisted Art
While Decadent Heir uses AI-generated illustrations to visualize its text-based scenes, the narrative itself is fully written by hand.

Playtest Details
The upcoming playtest will include the first of five planned chapters – featuring new mechanics, refined story content, and full Russian voice acting that transforms the game’s atmosphere.
Participants will also be able to share feedback through a Google form and earn Steam achievements.
Exclusive Playtest Reward
Players who take part in the playtest will have the chance to unlock an exclusive talent, available at the game’s full release.
To qualify, players must:
- Add Decadent Heir to their Steam wishlist.
- Follow the Valkyrie Initiative publisher page on Steam.
- Earn the Steam achievement “Hat Trick” during the playtest.
This reward – the “Lucky Charm” talent – increases the player’s luck during risk-based choices, allowing for completely unexpected story turns.
As the developers explain:
“The risk system in Decadent Heir is built so that every bold decision can lead to unforeseen outcomes – from a tragic death to the discovery of entirely new story branches.”
