Players can now sign up and earn exclusive rewards during the upcoming playtest
Indie publisher Valkyrie Initiative and developer SK Team are pleased to announce that playtest sign-ups for Stones Keeper II: Chaos Lord are now officially open. Players can register directly from the game’s Steam page and secure a chance to participate in early testing scheduled for Q1 2026.
To mark the announcement, a new trailer has been released, showcasing the improvements, updated factions, and expanded tactical features available in the upcoming playtest.
Additionally, Stones Keeper II: Chaos Lord has been officially selected for The Winter OTK Games Expo, a major showcase spotlighting promising indie titles. The event will take place on November 22nd.
About the Playtest
The upcoming playtest will allow players to experience a significant portion of the game, including:
- The first chapter of the Undead campaign led by the Chaos Lord
- Skirmish Mode, available for the first time outside internal builds
- Three playable factions: Humans, Undead, and Inquisition (out of nine planned total)
- Fully updated unit animations, dialogue portraits, and castle artwork
- Access to a Google Form feedback channel
- Two Steam achievements exclusive to the playtest environment
- And the opportunity to earn exclusive rewards redeemable in the final game
Exclusive Rewards for Playtesters
Players who join the playtest and fulfill specific conditions will unlock unique, permanently usable bonuses in the full game.
Reward 1 — Enhanced Zombie Axe
A powerful early-game weapon for the Zombie unit, boosting starting damage and offering early access to equipment normally unavailable at the beginning of the campaign.
Reward 2 — Improved Healing Potion
A rare, one-time consumable item restoring significantly more HP than standard potions. Available exclusively to playtest participants.
These rewards cater especially to players who enjoy higher difficulty modes and early tactical variety.
How to Earn the Rewards
To receive both exclusive items upon the full game’s release, players must:
- Add the game to their Steam Wishlist
- Follow publisher Valkyrie Initiative on Steam
- Earn the “Strategist” achievement during the playtest
- Awarded for completing the available campaign content without losing a single unit on any difficulty level
