The Free Lands beckon you once more! Bad Ridge Games and V Publishing are pleased to announce the next major update to the medieval life sim Mirthwood, the Foundations Update, is out now on Steam! This expansive update builds on Mirthwood’s stylish and narrative-rich foundation, with new features including story events to experience, seasonal festivals to celebrate, adorable furry friends, and so much more to explore. In addition to the Foundations Update, Mirthwood is now officially Steam Deck Verified – you can now continue your adventures in the Free Lands at home, or on-the-go!

- The Plot Thickens: New story events await, including town-wide scenarios like bandit raids and rodent infestations. How you react to every scenario is entirely your choice, but be prepared to reap the consequences either way.
- Celebrate in Style: The seasons in the Free Lands now come to life with vibrant festivals! Visit towns in festival regalia, dance along to live music, and discover one-of-a-kind items from local vendors.
- Cozy Companions Await: Get ready to make a new best friend — players can now acquire pets for their farm! Your trusty companions will help defend your property against new hardships, such as thieves and crop-hungry rats.
- No More Second Chances: Not even NPCs are safe from the dangers that roam the Free Lands. NPCs can now permanently pass away, and will be memorialized at their town’s graveyard.
- New Random Events & Encounters: Your adventures just got a lot more interesting: Active skirmishes, overturned carts, dead bodies, spilled loot, wandering bards, and more await.
