News Tower is print-ready, but like any good newspaper, timing is everything. News Tower is ready for its biggest headline, 1.0 launch on November 18.
Sparrow Night and Twin Sails Interactive today announced that the full 1.0 release of News Tower, the 1930s newsroom tycoon game, will now roll off the presses on November 18, 2025, on Steam, instead of the originally planned release for November 4. A fan-favorite in the management sim space, News Tower puts players in charge of a chaotic 1930s New York newsroom on a quest to build a media empire.
While the new 1.0 game content is finished, stable, and ready, the new launch date ensures News Tower gets the spotlight it deserves in a busy season for strategy and tycoon fans. Alongside the new launch date announcement, we get a new “Behind the Music” video, spotlighting the unique 1930s-inspired jazz score that gives News Tower its authentic big-band newsroom vibe.
Setting the Right Rhythm: A Look “Behind the Music”
Set in the heart of the big band era, News Tower’s soundtrack draws inspiration from icons like Count Basie and Duke Ellington, capturing the soul of a bustling newsroom through rhythm and improvisation. The team opted for live jazz recordings performed by members of the New Cool Collective, blending authenticity with a modern edge tailored for gameplay. Watch the Behind The Music video to hear composer Bart van de Sande talk about the soundtrack’s layered approach, which they used to mirror tension and pace in the game.

“Timing matters in both newspapers and video games,” said the Sparrow Night team. “By giving News Tower its own clear headline moment, we’re making sure our players and community can experience the excitement of building their media empire without distraction.”
