Hungry Horrors Steam Next Fe(a)st Demo now Live!

After a successfully served demo launch, Hungry Horrors is back with more ingredients, more buffs, and more folklore, cooked up through community feedback.

Clumsy Bear Studio has launched a brand-new demo for Hungry Horrors as part of Steam Next Fest (13-20 October). This special update adds much more strategic depth and expands on the systems that made the first demo a hit with players, which currently holds a 96% “Very Positive” rating on Steam.

Hungry Horrors is a culinary roguelite deckbuilder where you strategically cook and serve authentic traditional dishes to legendary monsters. Your deckbuilding skills and culinary decisions determine whether you successfully satisfy your monstrous guests or become their dinner.

Coming first to PC (Steam, Itch, GOG) – release date to be announced later. With plans to bring it to mobile (iOS, Android) and consoles (Xbox, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch) also in the works.

What’s New in the Demo

The updated demo introduces new gameplay systems, loot, and strategic layers, giving every run new ways to play and experiment.

  • Cookware – forget about relics. In our game, you collect Spatulas, Goblets, and Tygs
  • Seasoning – honey, gravy, or horseradish can all enhance your dishes
  • Spices – spice mixes tied to specific ingredients
  • Book of Taliesin – letting you buy upgrades for your next run
  • Brahan Seer and his Adder Stone – revealing each Horror’s favourite foods
  • Upgradable Dishes – some meals can now be improved mid-run

There is no sword to swing or spell to cast. Victory comes from keeping each Horror full before it gets too close, satisfying flavour cravings, and chaining the right dish combos to stay alive.
