Indie developer Tetrarchy Studios is now accepting playtesters for its atmospheric upcoming title, Mandated Fate—a retro-sci-fi, story-driven open-world game set in a dystopian 1985 ruled by a technocratic empire.

Game Overview

Players assume the role of an Imperial Police inspector dispatched to investigate a troubling murder in a resistant district. Choices matter—over five branching narrative paths, your alliances, loyalties, and moral compass shape the unfolding story.

A highly detailed open world with numerous promenades through immersive building interiors and a functioning subway system
A captivating neo-noir, cyberpunk aesthetic, amplified by moody lighting and a retro-futuristic visual style
AI-generated character voices are currently in use, with plans to replace them with performances by real actors as development progresses

Playtesting Details

Objective: Gather player feedback on narrative flow, world design, dialogue impact, atmosphere, and gameplay mechanics (e.g., subway navigation, interior exploration).
Eligibility: Open to indie developers, immersive storytelling enthusiasts, cyberpunk and noir fans, and anyone interested in narrative choice-driven gameplay.

What is Mandated Fate?

Mandated Fate is a retro-futuristic neo-noir adventure set in an alternate 1985, where the world is controlled by a powerful technocratic empire. You play as an Imperial Police inspector sent to investigate a murder in a rebellious district, but the deeper you dig, the more you uncover conspiracies, hidden loyalties, and moral dilemmas. Every decision matters—whether you enforce imperial order or challenge it—and your choices lead to multiple narrative paths and endings.

The game blends open-world exploration with rich storytelling, allowing players to wander through detailed building interiors, ride a fully functional subway system, and immerse themselves in a moody, dystopian cityscape. Featuring critical dialogue choices, a retro-sci-fi visual style, and plans for fully voiced characters, Mandated Fate offers an atmospheric experience where the line between justice and obedience blurs at every turn.
