A lightweight psychological horror walking simulator
Independent developer Daniels Šlosbergs has announced that Scary 8 Bits, a lightweight psychological horror and a walking simulator, is officially available on Steam. The game was released on October 31, 2025.
Scary 8 Bits is an immersive game that traps players in a looping dungeon filled with eerie mysteries and hidden dangers. To escape, players must make the right choice eight times in a row, selecting between two exits – one for the righteous and one for the deceived – based on what they observe in their surroundings.
The dungeon contains over 80 anomalies that alter the environment in unsettling ways. Objects may vanish, appear, or transform unexpectedly, while strange encounters test the player’s focus and nerve.
Blending classic pixel aesthetics with tense psychological gameplay, Scary 8 Bits offers about an hour of suspenseful exploration where every observation matters—and one mistake can send you back to the start.
