Escape From Duckov Flaps its Wings to 1 Million Units Sold in 5 Days

Birds of a feather flock together. Escape From Duckov developer Team Soda and publisher BILIBILI GAME announced that the indie survival RPG has reached a whopping 1 million total sales on PC via SteamEpic Games Store, and Mac via Steam and the Mac App Store just five days since its launch on Oct 16. That’s a lot of birds exploring, shooting, and extracting their way across an egg-shaped planet! Gamers can still grab Duckov for 12% off until Oct. 30.

It’s been an egg-citing week for Team Soda, with Duckov quickly reaching 200,000 units sold within the first 24 hours of release on Oct. 16, then 500,000 units by the end of Oct. 19, along with an “overwhelmingly positive” review tag on Steam. As of Oct. 21, Duckov sported a bill-dropping peak of 221,963 concurrent players, making it the 76th most-played game on Steam (based on all-time peak concurrent players) and the 5th most-played game on Steam (based on current concurrent player count).

“Team Soda is incredibly humbled to have reached such heights, and we owe this success to an incredible community of players and our friends at BILIBILI GAME,” said producer Jeff Chen. “Whether you’ve been with us through our early days promoting the demo on Steam or are just joining to see what all the quacking is about, thank you.”

Duckov is a funky and adorable duck-themed single-player top-down PvE indie survival RPG. Unlike hardcore tactical shooters, the game features cartoonish enemies, fog-of-war mechanics, and randomly dropped loot. Set in a mysterious egg-shaped world that’s slowly falling apart, players customize their own duck and set out to escape the planet by crafting a rocket ship. Combined with base-building, weapon customization, and in-depth progression systems, it offers high replayability that will keep players coming back for more.

Even better, Escape From Duckov now features mod support, opening up more opportunities for the community to play the way they want. For more details, read Team Soda’s blog.
